TRI is about a medical technician with a history of not finishing things who is inspired by a cancer patient to sign up for her first triathlon. Natalie (Award-winning actress Jensen Jacobs), an ultrasound tech with a history of not finishing things, is inspired by a cancer patient to sign up for a triathlon. Natalie is introduced to the world of triathletes, and she meets a colorful cast of characters while training for the Nation’s Triathlon. With the support of her new teammates, she digs deep to discover just how far she can push her mind and body.
While I’ve never participated in an event like this, I’ve taken part in several walks to support AIDS research, Alzheimer’s research and other worthy causes. I’m not interested in running, swimming or riding for non-leisurely purposes, so this film was both educational and entertaining for me. It gave me a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to train for something like this and the impact it can have on an individual’s body.
TRI was an enjoyable film about a subject matter I previously knew little about. If you’re in the Philadelphia area on August 31, I highly recommend you attend the screening at the Trocadero. You can buy your tickets by visiting the theatre’s website.
