Today’s Bloganuary post is based on the prompt: “If you had a freeway billboard, what would it say?” Let’s discuss!

If I had a freeway billboard, I’d have it say two words: be kind. Why? There’s too much hate and divisiveness in the world. People get angry at one another for insignificant reasons. Therefore, it is essential to be kind.

We never know the battles another person is enduring internally or externally, so choose kindness as often as possible. Sure, it may be hard to do when you’re caught up in your emotions, but it’s important to remind ourselves daily of the positive impact kindness can have on another human being.

It’s also vital to realize how negativity can hurt someone’s self-esteem. It’s been reported that Generation Z has low self-esteem because of social media. Not only do they feel insecure because of the unrealistic imagery on social media, but bullying is pervasive online. People are like elevators: they can bring you up, or they can bring you down. Choose to lift those around you by being kind.
