Today’s Bloganuary post is based on the prompt: “Describe an item you were incredibly attached to as a youth. What became of it?” Read on for my thoughts on this question.
An item I was incredibly attached to as a youth was my first teddy bear. I called him Brown Bearsy, and I still have him. While he’s in storage, I needed to keep Brown Bearsy because he’s a happy reminder of being a child.
Now that I have a toddler, I see how he lovingly interacts with his stuffed animals, and I wouldn’t get rid of any of them. I think it’s best to let him decide what he wants to keep from his childhood when he’s old enough to do so.
I’m always looking ahead, but I recognize the importance of appreciating where I came from, and the opportunities afforded me. We all need to give and receive love, and sometimes, that love takes the form of a stuffed brown bear.
Very cute.
