Bloganuary: Reducing Clutter

Today’s Bloganuary post is based on the prompt: “Where can you reduce clutter in your life?” Let’s discuss this important question.

I definitely have clutter in my life. I have many DVDs, video games, books, CDs, and more. While I still enjoy many of these items, they take up space. It’s like George Carlin’s classic routine where he says our houses are a pile of stuff with a cover on it.

I almost exclusively buy books, video games, music, and movies digitally to reduce clutter. However, certain items aren’t available digitally, which is frustrating.

Ways to reduce clutter include sticking with digital goods and reconsidering those only available physically. An excellent way to think about it is this: eventually, we all reach an age where our stuff is sold or given away, so it’s best only to buy items we can enjoy to their fullest in the present.
