Today, I interviewed Vince Russo for 90 minutes for my doctoral research about professional wrestling and my book about how the TNA Knockouts revolutionized women’s wrestling.
I’ve been trying to interview Vince Russo for years because he played an integral role in the rise of TNA and the Knockouts. He’s an unsung hero in women’s wrestling, both in WWE and TNA. I also wanted to set the record straight with Vince on some topics for which the internet wrestling community incorrectly ridicules him.
I left the conversation with even greater respect for Vince Russo. He was as nice as possible and generous with his time and insights. It was an honest conversation where he held back nothing. I couldn’t have asked for anything more, and I look forward to sharing it all with you when my TNA Knockouts book is published after I complete my PhD program in five years. Stay tuned for more exciting updates!
