Melissa Manchester, a timeless singer with an exquisite voice, performed a phenomenal concert on April 27 that benefited Lulu’s Rescue, an all-breed inclusive dog rescue.
Lulu’s Rescue has saved more than 3,500 dogs from death row and helped provide these wonderful animals with loving homes. A dog-lover herself, Melissa agreed to do the show to support the great work this non-profit does and to help raise funding and awareness so it can continue its noble mission. As the proud parent of two cats (one of them – Penny – is sitting on my lap as I write this!) and a lover of all furry friends, I’m thrilled with what Lulu’s Rescue has accomplished, and I’m glad Melissa agreed to do this important benefit concert.
One of the highlights was Melissa’s spectacular interpretation of “Be My Baby,” which had the crowd singing along during the chorus.
Melissa also performed a new song that I hadn’t seen her sing live before entitled “A Better Rainbow,” and the crowd loved it. A couple songs later, Melissa had people’s jaws on the floor with her mind-blowing scat singing during “Love Is Just Around The Corner” – another killer cut from The Fellas. Her singing was so impressive during this song, I was exhausted by the time she was done. It was a remarkable feat met by a thunderous ovation.
I truly enjoyed reading your review and watching the videos Michael.Very special. Thank you! It was a joy!
