My Thoughts

I enjoyed the first book in The Feud Trilogy, The Sparks, so I was eager to listen to the second audiobook in this series, The Flames.

The Story

In this book, Neil and the cast of characters that are still alive from the first book are outside the city walls of Altryon, trying to survive and thrive in a world previously unknown to them. While some of them may have been sworn enemies in Altryon, they have to coexist and work together in their new environs. This creates an interesting dynamic that shakes things up for the better.

Narration

John Eric Preston returns to narrate the audiobook version of The Flames. Once again, he does a tremendous job. His voice is a pleasure to listen to, and John takes the story to another level with his inspired character voices, energy, and verve.

Production

This audiobook sounds perfect, with consistent audio levels throughout. I’d argue that it sounds even better than the first book in the series.

Final Verdict

The Flames is a lovely second chapter in an intriguing trilogy that is certainly worth reading. I encourage you to fire up this audiobook and continue your way through this inventive narrative replete with palpable characters facing out-of-this-world encounters. It’s a fun ride and a great lead in to the final book in the trilogy: The Ashes.
