My Thoughts

I enjoyed the first two books in The Feud Trilogy, so I was happy to listen to the final audiobook in this series, The Ashes.

The Story

In this book, Neil is, once again, in a wildly challenging situation, surrounded by a delightfully well developed cast of characters. This time around he’s on the run after being imprisoned, faced with a difficult decision. A trademark of a good book is one in which you’re reading about a choice that makes you think, ‘What would I do if I was in this situation?’ The Ashes is one of those books.

Narration

John Eric Preston continues to exhibit his narration prowess in The Ashes, delivering a lovely performance befitting the tale being told. His effortless delivery and willingness to throw himself into each character makes for a joyful listening experience.

Production

This audiobook sounds terrific, with consistent audio levels throughout. As with the books that preceded it, The Ashes is a high-fidelity affair.

Final Verdict

The Ashes is a riveting culmination, serving as an endpoint to The Feud Trilogy in a way that is unpredictable, yet believable and, most importantly, satisfying. I enjoyed the time I spent with these characters, and I’m certain you will too.

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Kyle Prue. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.
