I love Halloween, and I love movie novelizations. Is Halloween Kills by Tim Waggoner a worthy adaptation of its source material? Read on for my thoughts.

My Thoughts

Like the Halo audiobooks I’ve been reviewing, I chose to listen to Halloween Kills using the Downpour app. A great reason to listen using Downpour is that it gives you access to multiple levels of sound quality, not just one. So, if you want to listen in the highest quality possible, Downpour has you covered.

Halloween Kills is an exceptional book to listen to because the narrator, Bronson Pinchot, best known as Balki on Perfect Strangers, is positively amazing. His narration is second to none and easily one of the best I’ve ever heard, and I’ve listened to hundreds of audiobooks. Pinchot’s emotional performance provides the story with a heightened level of suspense, making for a potent horror listening experience. The story itself is an expanded version of the movie, which I thought was pretty solid. Being that this is a novel, there’s much more room to expand on the characters in the film, and Tim Waggoner does so with aplomb.

If you love horror audiobooks and are looking for your next listen, fire up Halloween Kills and let Michael Myers take you for a ride you won’t forget. The quality of this audio production is top-tier, and the narration is superb. This is an audiobook that will make you feel like you’re on the knife’s edge and loving every minute of it.
