Pinocchio Unstrung Review: Glorious B-Movie Chaos with a Surprising Heart

If you know anything about my taste in cinema, you know that Robert Englund is royalty in my book. Wes Craven’s New Nightmare holds the top spot as my absolute favorite movie of all time, and I still have vivid, incredibly fond memories of sitting in a packed theater back in the day to watch Freddy vs. Jason. So when I saw Englund himself post about Pinocchio Unstrung on Facebook, I hesitated for zero seconds. Any chance to see a brand-new Robert Englund movie on the big screen in theaters is an immediate, non-negotiable ticket purchase for me.

Going into it, I expected campy fun, but I didn’t expect just how thoroughly entertained I’d be.

What is the Social Commentary in ‘Evil Dead Burn’?

If you walked into Evil Dead Burn expecting nothing more than the franchise’s signature blend of chainsaws, geysers of blood, and twisted deadite grins, no one could blame you. Director Sébastien Vaniček absolutely delivers on the gore. But now that the dust (and plasma) has settled, can we talk about what this movie is actually about?

Because holy hell, it is heavy.

I Went into ‘Obsession’ (2026) Expecting Nothing. I Walked Out Having Seen the Best Movie of the Year.

Let me preface this by saying I am completely burnt out on modern horror trailers. They either give away the entire plot in two minutes or compile every single jump scare into a neat little montage, leaving absolutely nothing for the actual theater experience.

So, when the buzz around Obsession started getting dangerously loud, I made a conscious choice to tune it out. I didn’t read the synopses. I didn’t look at the deep-dive theories. All I knew was that both hardcore horror fans and notoriously stiff critics were losing their minds over it. I watched just enough of the trailer—maybe thirty seconds—to confirm the vibes were immaculate, bought my ticket, and walked into the theater with absolutely zero expectations.

What I wound up watching completely shattered me.

Godstone Island Awaits: My Review of The Occultist on Xbox

If you’ve ever found yourself wishing that Geralt of Rivia would hang up his silver sword and take up a career as a paranormal detective, then The Occultist is going to feel like a very strange, very specific dream come true.

Is Return to Silent Hill Good? My Full Review

For as long as I can remember, the foggy, dilapidated streets of Silent Hill have occupied a significant corner of my mind. I am a lifelong fan of the franchise; I’ve survived the pixelated horrors of the PlayStation original and dove deep into the psychological abyss of Silent Hill 2. Those two games, in particular, hold a truly special place in my heart, setting the gold standard for what atmospheric horror can achieve.

Lately, I’ve been reliving that nightmare in the best possible way, spending my evenings glued to the Silent Hill 2 remake on Xbox. It is a spectacular return to form, and my expectations for the franchise have never been higher. When I sat down to watch the latest cinematic offering, Return to Silent Hill, I was cautiously optimistic. Could a new movie live up to the legacy?

I am thrilled to say that it did.

Everything You Need to Know About the New Voodoo Horror Film ‘Bad Voodoo’

If there is one cardinal rule in horror cinema, it’s this: never break into a quiet house in the middle of nowhere. You aren’t going to find a stash of untraceable cash; you’re going to find a portal to hell or a family with a very specific, very terrifying hobby.

In Bad Voodoo, released this February via DeskPop Entertainment, two escaped convicts learn this lesson the hard way. What starts as a gritty crime thriller quickly spirals into a supernatural nightmare that proves some chains are impossible to break.
