Today’s Bloganuary post is based on the prompt: “Think back on your most memorable road trip.” Let’s get into it.
My most memorable road trip was in 2010 when my cousin Chris and I drove from Philadelphia to West Palm Beach, Florida. On our way, we stopped in Savannah, which was incredible.
I revisited Savannah years later with my wife, and I would absolutely go there again. It feels like a southern version of Philadelphia: walkable, with great food and a young, diverse population. If you’ve never been, I highly recommend you do so.
West Palm Beach was a fun experience as well for a variety of reasons. However, what made this the most memorable road trip I’ve been on is that I got a job offer while we were driving.
My cousin was behind the wheel, and I took a nap at one point. When I awoke, I had a voicemail from a guy named Adam. He told me that his company would like to hire me. I was elated.
Most people don’t expect to get a job while on vacation, but I did. I always remember that happy, unexpected moment while on the road with my cousin Chris.
