Bloganuary: Feeling Loved

Today’s Bloganuary post is based on the prompt: “Can you share a positive example of where you’ve felt loved?” Read on for my thoughts.

Feeling loved is vital. Without love, we fail to grow, reach our full potential, and lose all hope in the world, ourselves, and each other.

Think about it: If children receive plenty of love growing up, they are more positive, more confident, and more willing to push themselves to accomplish new goals. If they aren’t loved, they are fearful, keep to themselves, and unwilling to put themselves out there.

The old cliche about our parents causing all our problems is partially true. I was fortunate to be raised by two Dads who provided me with an endless amount of love, support, and encouragement. It made a massive difference, and I do the same for my son, Oliver.

Love doesn’t have to be reserved just for our children. It costs nothing to express love, gratitude, and kindness to those around us. Compliment a stranger, wish a good afternoon to a delivery person, and go out of your way to smile at those around you. The world could always use more love.
