Book Update: Total Nonstop IMPACT

Last night, I took part in another interview to promote my book project about the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling. This time I joined the guys on Total Nonstop IMPACT to provide insight into the process of working on this project over the past few months, what it was like being the first person ever to interview Keith Mitchell, and more. Watch the video below for the full interview. It was a pleasure being on Total Nonstop IMPACT, and I look forward to returning in the future!

Pro Wrestling Illustrated: Special WrestleMania Issue

Advertisements

Tonight, Pro Wrestling Illustrated announced that the digital version of its June issue drops on Thursday and you can preorder the physical version right now! This is no ordinary issue, mind you; it’s the special WrestleMania issue and the fact that it’s available a few days before the biggest show of the year is awesome. Bianca Belair is in the hotseat this time around, which should be interesting, and I’m looking forward to reading the articles contributed by Brian Solomon and Jordynne Grace too. All of this, and much more, is in the new issue of Pro Wrestling Illustrated dropping this week (digitally), so make sure to snag a copy!

Book Update: Jason Hervey, D’Lo Brown, Deonna Purrazzo, Eddie Edwards, and More!

Over the past week, I’ve interviewed a slew of people who played an incredibly important role in the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling for my books about the company’s history. One of those people is Jason Hervey, who you may know best for his starring role in The Wonder Years. Jason was a phenomenal interview. We talked about the early days of TNA, when he was working with HealthSouth, the wrestling promotion’s original financial baker, how he joined TNA in 2010, alongside Hulk Hogan and his former business partner, Eric Bischoff, and much more. Other topics discussed include his thoughts on Dixie Carter, Jeff Jarrett, lawsuits he was involved in with HealthSouth and TNA, and Aces & Eights, just to name a few. I was very impressed by Jason’s honesty and respect and admiration for those he’s worked with over the years.

Book Review: The Wrestlers’ Wrestlers

Advertisements

I’m always up for a good book about professional wrestling, and a new one is coming out on April 27, The Wrestlers’ Wrestlers: The Masters of the Craft of Professional Wrestling by Dan Murphy and Brian Young. Unlike other wrestling books, this isn’t focused on one particular individual or promotion. Rather, it’s a collection of profiles of elite performers, analyzing what made them your favorite wrestlers’ . . . favorite wrestlers. So, instead of simply being a list of the greatest wrestlers of all time, according to the fans, this book is about the wrestlers that other wrestlers admire. It’s an interesting concept.

IMPACT Wrestling Moves to Thursdays

Advertisements

Big news: IMPACT Wrestling is moving to Thursday nights, starting April 8! As old-school TNA Wrestling fans know, Thursdays are the night that, for many years, TNA brought us the hard-hitting action we love. With NXT moving to Tuesdays on April 13 and NWA Powerrr also airing the same night on FITE, it makes perfect sense for IMPACT to switch things up, and moving back to its classic night is a smart move. Below is the full press release with all of the details.

Review: NWA Back For The Attack

Tonight marked the return of the NWA since the start of the pandemic last year. A two-hour PPV event on FITE, Back For The Attack was an excellent return to form for one of the most compelling wrestling promotions in the world today. Before I dive into my match-by-match review, I want to let you know that NWA Powerrr is now exclusively on FITE, with the first new episode airing this Tuesday. If you want to watch NWA Powerrr, you can do so by paying only $5 a month. This subscription is absolutely worth it, and I encourage you to sign up for it today. Now, let’s take a look at tonight’s PPV and my thoughts on each match!

Book Update: Keith Mitchell’s First-Ever Interview

Advertisements

Keith Mitchell is one of the most talented and respected people within the professional wrestling industry. Currently serving as the Executive Producer for AEW, Keith was TNA Wrestling’s Executive Producer for 17 years. Prior to this, he was the Executive Producer for WCW and WCCW. Throughout his nearly 40-year career, Keith has never done an interview . . . until now! Over the course of two days, we spoke for five hours about all things TNA. We covered the formation of the company in 2001, TNA going on the road full-time in 2013, Spike TV cancelling TNA, what it was like working under Scott D’Amore’s leadership, and much more. It was an absolute honor to be the first person he fully trusted to do an interview with, and I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunity. Stay tuned for plenty of commentary from Keith Mitchell in both of my books about the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling!

Watch For FREE: NWA Back For The Attack

This Sunday the NWA returns to PPV with Back For The Attack on FITE! Other than IMPACT Wrestling, the NWA is the most exciting and innovative professional wrestling promotion in the world today. The content they were producing prior to COVID was incredible, and I’m very exciting for their big return this Sunday. FITE was kind enough to give me a PPV code to give away so one lucky winner can watch NWA Back For The Attack for FREE! If you want a chance to be that person, follow the rules in the tweet below. I’ll announce the winner on Twitter this Saturday. Good luck!
