I just spoke with Sam for a few minutes, after calling in numerous times, and shared with him that Wes Craven’s New Nightmare is my favorite film. I also told him that I love 1970s and 1980s horror. He said, “What about the ’80s stuff appeals to you? Would you be open to something that you’d feel would recall that spirit really well?” I proceeded to tell Sam how I love everything about the 1980s, including the music, movies, etc. I then told him how I love the vibe of American Horror Story 1984 because it captures the vibe of the 1980s that I enjoy, including its soundtrack. Sam replied, “Awesome! Have you checked out Summer of 84, I imagine?” I said, “Oh, yes. That was good.” He replied, “What about The Ranger?” I told Sam that I had not watched that. “The Ranger, I think would be worth you checking out because it has that feel, it has that color, it has a big punk rock soundtrack. It’s very inspired by Demons and Return of the Living Dead, but it’s also kind of a straight slasher.” I asked Sam what caller I was, and he said I was number five. We wished each other a Happy Halloween and said goodbye.
