Fourteen years, 145 countries, and now, over one million views. If you told me back in 2012 when I launched this site that it would eventually cross the one-million mark and reach readers all over the globe, I’m not sure I would have believed you. But here we are. This month marks the 14th anniversary of this website, and hitting these milestones at the exact same time has me feeling incredibly grateful—and a little reflective.
When this journey started, it was simply a space born out of sheer intellectual curiosity. I wanted a corner of the internet to document the things that moved me, challenged me, and made me think—whether that was diving deep into a book, dissecting a film, analyzing a great concert, or exploring the cultural nuances of video games. It was a passion project, pure and simple.
Over the last 14 years, that passion project has grown into something bigger than I ever anticipated.
Knowing that my thoughts have resonated with people in 145 countries is a completely surreal feeling. It’s proof that no matter where we live, we share a collective desire to engage with culture, ask questions, and stay curious about the world around us.
Whether you’ve been reading since the early days of 2012, or you just stumbled across a post this week, thank you. Thank you for reading, sharing, and being part of this global community.
Here’s to fourteen years of staying culturally and intellectually curious—and to whatever comes next.
Cheers,
Michael
