It’s not every day that a legendary franchise like Bomberman gets a surprise drop that actually respects its history. As a massive fan who already has Super Bomberman R, Super Bomberman R 2, and the classic Bomberman Battlefest locked into my Xbox library, my eyes practically popped out of my head when the SUPER BOMBERMAN COLLECTION shadow-dropped on February 5.

For just $20, this isn’t just a nostalgia trip; it’s a masterclass in packaging retro titles.

If you’ve ever wondered why Optimus Prime doesn’t just transform into a truck and drive away when a fight gets too hairy, Transformers Galactic Trials on Xbox finally lets you live out that logic. Released by Outright Games and developed by 3DClouds, this title is a curious hybrid that attempts to weld high-octane arcade racing with third-person shooter combat.

If you’ve ever looked at a creepy, dilapidated ranch and thought, “I should definitely move in there,” Skybound Games has a reality check for you. Based on the Eisner Award-nominated comic by Kyle Starks and Artyom Topilin, I Hate This Place has officially slashed its way onto Xbox.

It’s a cocktail of 80s synth-horror, brutal survival mechanics, and comic-book aesthetics that feels like someone dropped a bucket of neon paint into a nightmare.

Is Ebola Village the Resident Evil Clone You Should Play?

If you’ve spent any time browsing the “New Games” section of the Xbox Store recently, you’ve likely scrolled past a title that stops you in your tracks: Ebola Village. Developed by the aptly named Indie Games Studio, this title is the fourth entry in a series that has slowly built a reputation for being the “Resident Evil at home” of the indie horror scene.

But is it a hidden gem for survival horror purists, or just another case of “indie jank”? I spent a few hours in the titular village to find out.

From Hell with Love — Doom: The Dark Ages

Advertisements

If you’ve been looking for a reason to let your inner Doom Slayer loose again, Doom: The Dark Ages is every bit the brutal, metal-infused masterpiece I hoped for. After spending some serious time with it since its May 2025 launch, I can safely say that id Software has managed to evolve the formula once again, trading the “fighter jet” agility of Eternal for the sheer, crushing power of a medieval “iron tank.”

Avowed: A Masterpiece That Recaptured the Magic of My First RPG

Advertisements

There is a specific kind of magic that comes with your very first Role-Playing Game. For me, that magic was embodied by an Xbox 360 and a copy of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

I still vividly remember that feeling: stepping out of the Imperial sewers for the first time, blinking against the blinding digital sunlight, and realizing I could go anywhere. It was pure, unfiltered joy and a sense of boundless possibility. For years, I’ve been chasing that exact high, hopping from fantasy world to fantasy world.

Well, I can finally say it. I’ve found that magic again.

Obsidian Entertainment’s Avowed on Xbox isn’t just incredible; it is an absolute masterpiece that has brought me the same level of joy and wonder that Oblivion did all those years ago. It is everything I wanted a first-person fantasy RPG to be, and somehow, even more.
