Earlier this week, James Patterson, the world’s best-selling author, released his long-awaited autobiography. The next day, Stuart Woods, also a #1 New York Times best-selling author, released his autobiography. Apparently, it’s the week for thriller writers to release their life’s story. Last night I attended the National Book Awards in New York City, an annual event hosted by the National Book Foundation. My reason for going was to see James Patterson receive the 2015 Literarian Award for Outstanding Service to the American Literary Community.
