On Saturday, February 13 the next IMPACT Plus exclusive event takes place: No Surrender. Just today it was announced that there’s going to be a Triple Threat Revolver match, which is a revolving series of triple threat matches where three men begin, and when somebody is pinned or submits another man enters. Tonight, I interviewed IMPACT Wrestling Referee Daniel Spencer and got his thoughts on this one-of-a-kind match that’s making its debut at No Surrender, as well as Tommy Dreamer getting a shot at the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship on the same night, which happens to be his birthday!

The updates for my books about the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling keep rolling in! I’m now at more than 70 interviews, including Petey Williams — the master of the Canadian Destroyer and former member of Team Canada. We spoke at length about his storied career in TNA/IMPACT Wrestling, both in the ring and behind the curtain. I’ve now done more than 60 interviews for my books about the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling, including an interview tonight that I conducted with former Spike TV President Kevin Kay that lasted more than two hours. We talked about many topics, including the following: whether or not Spike TV paid for Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff, among others, to join TNA, if Spike TV ever thought about buying TNA, how Viacom really felt about TNA, if Jeff Jarrett was a better leader than Dixie Carter, and a whole lot more. This was one of the most enlightening conversations I’ve had so far, and it’s going to make for exceptionally compelling content for both of my books. With Hard To Kill in the rearview mirror, 2021 is shaping up to be the year of IMPACT Wrestling. One of the things I’ve learned while looking into the company’s history is that they’ve never taken the fans for granted. I know, I know — that sounds like some line that celebrities or corporations use to emotionally appeal to consumers, but I’m being serious. IMPACT Wrestling is known for taking meet and greets to the next level. It’s never been a cattle call, where they simply try to get fans in and out. Not at all. Rather than seeing these fan experiences as merely financial transactions, the company and the talent go the extra mile to make every single fan feel special. Accomplishing this in the era of COVID is harder than ever, yet IMPACT continues to push the bar higher. A perfect example of this is the Hard To Kill CELL-ebration that took place the morning of this epic PPV. Read on for my full thoughts on this special fan experience.

Today I may have conducted the biggest interview for my books about the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling yet: Rob Van Dam! Mr. Monday Night talked to me about his two runs in the promotion, including stories about Hulk Hogan, Sting, Sami Callihan, Jeff Hardy, Paul Heyman, and much more. RVD is the only man to have held the ECW, WWE, and TNA World Heavyweight Championships, yet he comes off as the super cool dude we all know and love on TV. I couldn’t be more grateful to have had the chance to speak with this wrestling icon, and I look forward to sharing his stories with you in my books.
This Saturday is the biggest PPV for IMPACT Wrestling in many years because it’s the first time the company is collaborating with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) for a major event. Not only will AEW World Champion Kenny Omega be in the main event, but there will be a new broadcast team calling the action. IMPACT Wrestling announced that Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne are no longer doing play-by-play and color commentary. Starting at Hard To Kill, and going forward, Matt Striker and D’Lo Brown are taking over these duties. I’m thrilled to hear this news and can’t wait to see what this new team has to offer. This time last year there was a lot of uncertainty in my life, both personally and professionally. Heading into 2020, I was hopeful that the year ahead would bring me good fortune and opportunity. Thankfully, I was correct. I had two amazing opportunities as a professional, and I personally had a great deal of good things happen too. However, what none of us could have anticipated was that a global pandemic would hit — and it hit hard.
