I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing Michael Des Barres three times. He’s also the first celebrity I interacted with through my blog, way back in 2012. Since then, I’ve seen him perform live in New York City and continue to enjoy his countless artistic endeavors, which are always inspired. Doug Bradley’s Spinechillers Volume 1

I’m a massive fan of horror. Books, movies, TV shows — you name it. One series that has made an indelible mark on me is Hellraiser. Clive Barker is an artistic genius whose talent has transcended a myriad of mediums, including literature and film. His horror novella The Hellbound Heart was adapted for cinema in 1987. This film, Hellraiser, is a classic that is comprised of numerous spellbinding performances. However, the one that people remember most of all is that of Doug Bradley as the lead cenobite whom society named Pinhead. Bradley’s background in stage acting and his deep knowledge of literature — not to mention the man’s unmistakably wonderful voice — makes his Spinechillers series from Renegade Arts Entertainment a joyful listening experience.

Tales Of Tamriel, Book II: The Lore

Audible Review: The Hardcore Truth by Bob Holly

I grew up watching professional wrestling in the early 1990s, and I still watch it today. Throughout the 1990s and the 2000s, Bob Holly was a fixture in the WWE. His character changed from race-car-driver “Sparky Plugg,” to Hardcore Holly — a no-nonsense wrestler during the “Attitude Era,” when wrestling was more popular than ever. The Hardcore Truth is Bob Holly’s autobiography, and the audiobook version is an Audible Original. The narrator does an excellent job of delivering the content in a direct and impactful way. What I found most interesting about The Hardcore Truth is that Bob spills the beans on anyone and everyone. He dishes dirt on everyone from Triple H to Diamond Dallas Page, with no reservations. I went into this audiobook respecting Bob Holly’s work, and I left it feeling like I knew the man behind the wrestler. He’s been called a bully and tough to work with, and I can see why people might think that. Nevertheless, if you’re a fan of the WWE from the 1990s and 2000s, there’s a lot to enjoy in The Hardcore Truth. It’s a tell-all book from someone who was there for Owen Hart’s death, the Chris Benoit double-murder-suicide, and other fascinating, and sometimes grim, milestones in wrestling. It’s one of the best pro wrestling audiobooks available, and I highly recommend checking it out.

Completely Damaged Radio

My first DDP Yoga class as a certified instructor was a big success, and it sold out several days in advance. To those of you that came out, thank you so much. Kiefer Sutherland: Sharing A Song And A Drink

Audiobook Review: Breathe To Succeed

Breathe To Succeed is focused on the power of mindfulness and owning one’s breath. As someone who does DDP Yoga every day, I fully understand the power of my breath. While this is an important concept to understand and master, it doesn’t warrant an audiobook that is nearly five hours long. The narrator does a fine job with the material, and the author clearly cares about the subject matter. However, I think it would be better suited for a TED Talk or a podcast episode, not a full-length book. Therefore, I can’t recommend it unless you know absolutely nothing about owning your breath and are willing to sit through a nearly-five-hour discussion about it. If that sounds appealing, this is the book for you. If not, you should read a more comprehensive book on mindfulness.

Dennis DeYoung’s Grand Illusion

Dennis DeYoung is one of the greatest vocalists in the history of music, and he’s currently on tour performing one of the best rock albums of all time – The Grand Illusion by STYX – in its entirety, along with a handful of classics fans know and love. I attended his recent concert in Philadelphia and it was excellent. From start to finish, it was a tour de force of musicianship and showmanship.
