Prior to its acquisition by Microsoft, ZeniMax Media, the parent company of renowned studios like Bethesda Game Studios and id Software, had ongoing Xbox projects in the works. These projects included remastered versions of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3, along with a new installment in the Doom franchise. These revelations stem from recently disclosed documents as part of the FTC v. Microsoft case. These games were notably featured in a Microsoft presentation from July 2020, which was focused on the prospective acquisition of ZeniMax at that time.
The recent leak from the FTC v. Microsoft case not only unveiled the new disc-less Xbox Series X but also shed light on Microsoft’s long-term vision for 2028.
