Exactly one year ago I announced that I had started writing a book about the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling. So, what have I accomplished over the past year? Read on to find out.
Continue readingI’ve been in touch with Jeff Jarrett since I started working on my book about the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling. However, he has yet to agree to do an interview with me for the project. So, when I heard that Jeff was coming to my city — Philadelphia — I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to meet Double J for the first time ever and see if I could convince him to speak with me for my book. Read on for details about my meet and greet with the “King of the Mountain.”
Continue readingI’ve got a big book update! Not only have I written about 200 pages, but I just conducted some big-time interviews: Andy Barton, Brian Diamond, and the team from Challenge TV.
Continue readingThis past spring I interviewed Shannon “Daffney” Spruill for my book about the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling. Thank god I did because last night she tragically committed suicide, and, as a result, the world lost a wonderful, kind, and talented human being.
Continue readingReleased in 2015, Pro Wrestling FAQ by Brian Solomon is a lengthy and detailed history of a fascinating industry, spectacle, and art form. Watch my video review below to see what’s inside and find out whether or not you should add this book to your collection.
Continue readingI just got off the phone with Bradley Schwartz, the former President of Pop TV: the network which was TNA/IMPACT Wrestling’s home from 2016 through the end of 2018. So, now you’ll be able to enjoy insights from Fox Sports Net, Spike TV, and Pop TV executives in my book about the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling! All of the major networks that the promotion has aired on throughout it’s nearly 20-year history.
Continue readingThis past Saturday, July 17, IMPACT Wrestling welcomed back fans for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it did so with one of the biggest shows of the year: Slammiversary on FITE. This year’s event marks the 19th anniversary of IMPACT Wrestling, formerly TNA Wrestling. As many of you know, I’m writing a book about the first 20 years of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling. But now that the dust has settled, let’s take a look at this year’s Slammiversary!
Continue readingI had the honor and pleasure of interviewing Bob Carter, Dixie Carter’s father, for my book about the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling! Yes, that Bob Carter — the man who saved TNA in 2002 when HealthSouth cut off funding. Knowing that I’ve had the opportunity to interview both Richard Scrushy of HealthSouth and Bob Carter of Panda Energy for my book is incredible. Bob and I talked about his thoughts on Dixie, TNA, his wife and son, Jeff Jarrett, and more. He was as nice as could be, and I’m delighted that he was kind enough to speak with me for this project.
For my book about the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling, I interviewed the founder and CEO of HealthSouth, Richard Scrushy because, after all, his company was the original financial backer of TNA Wrestling in 2002. Knowing that he built a massively successful business empire, I was interested in reading Richard’s book, which is entitled When Building a Billion Dollar Company: Here Are a Few Thing to Think About. Read on for my thoughts on this book.
Continue readingOn June 3, IMPACT Wrestling issued the press release below announcing that it is welcoming back fans at Slammiversary on July 17 in Nashville at Skyway Studios, which has been the home of IMPACT Wrestling TV tapings and live broadcasts since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Tickets, which were priced at $250 a piece (nearly $300, when you factor in taxes and fees), sold out in approximately one hour. Read on for my thoughts on this exciting news.
