I grew up watching Beavis & Butt-Head on MTV, and I found it to be hilarious. When Beavis & Butt-Head got their first feature film release in 1996, Beavis & Butt-Head Do America, I went to my local movie theater and loved every minute of the movie. So, when I heard a new movie was coming out, Beavis & Butt-Head Do the Universe, exclusively on Paramount+, I had to watch it. Read on for my thoughts on this movie.
Movie Summary
Blasting off on a NASA space mission in 1998, mischievous best pals Beavis and Butt-head time travel to the year 2022. As the NSA and U.S. government try to track them down, the clueless teens do their best to adjust to modern life.
My Thoughts
Beavis & Butt-Head Do the Universe is a really fun movie. I went into it not sure if it was going to be lame or underwhelming, and it was neither. Mike Judge has done a terrific job of creating a modern movie that feels like an old-school extended episode of Beavis & Butt-Head.
The jokes are dumb in the best way possible, the voices just as I remember them, and the plot is as ridiculous and over the top as a Saints Row video game. I’m really glad that Beavis and Butt-Head are back because they’ve been sorely missed. And this movie is just the appetizer to a full-fledged return of the TV show on Paramount+, which, as I write this, is now live on the streaming service with two new episodes for fans to enjoy. I wholeheartedly recommend Beavis & Butt-Head Do the Universe, and I can’t wait to check out the new episodes of the TV show.
