If you’ve ever had sleep paralysis, you already know the specific flavor of dread it brings. You’re awake, you can’t move, the room feels suffocatingly heavy, and your brain decides the foot of your bed is the perfect place to manifest an ominous shadow figure.

It’s a sensation that horror movies and games constantly try to recreate, usually with mixed success. When developer and publisher JanduSoft put out Dream Cage on Xbox, pitching it as a five-night psychological ordeal explicitly inspired by real-life accounts of sleep paralysis, I was genuinely curious.
