Why “Realm of Ink” Might Be Your Next Roguelike Obsession

If you’re anything like me, your roguelike folder is probably bursting at the seams. Between Hades, Dead Cells, and a dozen indie titles trying to capture that same lightning in a bottle, it takes something genuinely distinct to make me stop and take notice.

Enter Realm of Ink for Xbox, an isometric rogue-action game developed by Leap Studio and published by 4Divinity. Coming in at a very reasonable $24.99, this title mixes intense hack-and-slash combat with a stunning classical Chinese art style. I’ve spent the last few days hacking my way through its gorgeous, watercolor-esque world, and it has some incredibly cool ideas that set it apart from the crowd.

Here is my honest take on whether this ink-washed adventure is worth your time and hard-earned cash.

Why ‘Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown’ is a Sci-Fi Survival Masterpiece

I’ve played a lot of Star Trek games over the years, and most of them tend to follow a pretty predictable formula: you fly around, shoot some phasers, scan a few anomalies, and call it a day. But Daedalic Entertainment and Gamexcite just dropped something entirely different on Xbox Series X|S.

Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown (Deluxe Edition) throws out the standard power fantasy and replaces it with a stressful, brilliant, and deeply addictive story-driven survival strategy loop. If you’ve ever wanted to know what Frostpunk or FTL would feel like set in the Trek universe, this is your answer.

Finding Beauty in the Bones: Why Necrophosis: Full Consciousness is a Triumph of Macabre Art

Every now and then, a horror game comes along that doesn’t just try to make you jump out of your skin, but instead tries to crawl right inside it. If you’ve been doom-scrolling through the Xbox store looking for something that feels genuinely distinct, Necrophosis: Full Consciousness is the bizarre, deeply unsettling experience you’ve been waiting for.

It is less of a traditional video game and more of a playable nightmare. And honestly? I mean that as a massive compliment.

Is LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight the Best Batman Game Ever Made?

Batman has always been my absolute favorite superhero. Hands down. Out of all the caped and cowled figures in comic book history, he’s consistently been the most fascinating to me. He doesn’t have alien superpowers; he has unmatched drive, brilliant detective skills, and an unparalleled psychological complexity.

But let’s be honest: a hero is only as good as his rogues’ gallery, and Batman has the absolute best villains in fiction. I have always loved his antagonists, especially the Penguin and, of course, the Joker. And while there have been many incredible interpretations over the decades, Jack Nicholson in the 1989 film will always be the definitive, gold-standard Joker for me.

That deep-seated love for the lore is exactly why my expectations were sky-high for TT Games’ latest release. And yet, it completely blew me away.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight for Xbox is, without a doubt, my favorite game of the year so far, and it easily stands as one of the greatest Batman video games ever made.

Nice Day for Fishing: An Epic NPC Adventure

If you’ve spent any time scrolling through YouTube over the last few years, chances are you’ve stumbled across Viva La Dirt League. Their Epic NPC Man sketches—which lovingly poke fun at the absolute absurdity of open-world RPG tropes—are legendary.

And if you know the channel, you know Baelin. He’s the simple, endlessly cheerful fisherman NPC whose entire existence consists of walking a set path, holding a fishing rod, and happily chirping his singular line: “Morning! Nice day for fishing, ain’t it!”

Well, someone finally gave Baelin his own game. Published by Team17 and developed by FusionPlay, Nice Day for Fishing for Xbox turns a brilliant running internet joke into a surprisingly addictive, charming little Action-RPG/Fishing hybrid.

Black Jacket: Master the Odds in a Sinister Casino

Ever since Balatro completely hijacked our collective free time, the gaming world has been desperately hunting for the next great roguelike card obsession. There is something intoxicating about taking a classic, universally understood tabletop game, wrapping it in modern mechanics, and giving players the power to break the rules.

Enter Black Jacket, developed by Mi’pu’mi Games and published by Skystone Games. It dropped quietly on Xbox Series X|S last month for $14.99, and if you have any weakness for deckbuilders or high-stakes risk-management, it is going to absolutely ruin your sleep schedule.

But instead of playing with a poker hand, this time you’re sitting down at the ultimate underworld casino floor. Your game of choice? Blackjack. The stakes? Your literal soul.

Slots & Daggers: A Unique Micro-Roguelike Experience

If you told me a year ago that one of my favorite gaming experiences would involve pulling the lever on a slot machine to hack a skeleton to pieces, I probably would have laughed. But here we are.

Solo developer Friedemann (the brilliant mind behind the cozy building game SUMMERHOUSE) teamed up with indie publisher Future Friends Games to bring Slots & Daggers to consoles, including Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. And let me tell you, it is an absolute blast of dopamine, crunchy beats, and retro charm.

Explore Monster Crown: Sin Eater’s Unique Monster Creation System

Whether you grew up with a Game Boy in your hands or you’re just a fan of deep RPGs, you’ve probably felt that itch for a creature-collector that actually respects your intelligence. Most games in the genre lean into the “cuddly” and “whimsical,” but Monster Crown: Sin Eater—just released on Xbox—is a very different beast.

If the original Monster Crown was a love letter to the darker corners of 90s handheld gaming, Sin Eater is the grit and the consequence that comes after. Here’s why this one should be on your radar.

This New Xbox Indie Will Make You Rage-Quit (And Keep Playing)

If you’ve ever played a game that makes you hold your breath without realizing it, you know exactly the vibe of The Confinement.

Released recently on Xbox by Mr. Dev Studio and QUByte Interactive, this isn’t your typical “run and jump” adventure. It’s what the devs call an “FP4″—a First-Person Paced Precision Platformer. Essentially, it’s a high-speed parkour fever dream where the environment wants you dead, and your only way out is through absolute mechanical perfection.

Here is why this indie gem has been eating up my evening gaming sessions lately.

Is Mouse: P.I. For Hire Worth It? Full Xbox Review and Final Verdict

If you’ve been hanging around the Xbox store lately, you’ve probably seen a thumbnail that looks like it was ripped straight out of a 1930s Disney vault—only, instead of whistling on a steamboat, the mouse is packing a Tommy gun.

I just finished my first full run of Mouse: P.I. For Hire, and honestly? It’s one of the most visually stunning and unapologetically fun shooters I’ve played in years. If you’re a fan of Cuphead’s art style but always wished you could play it as a fast-paced “boomer shooter” like Doom or Bioshock, this is exactly what you’ve been waiting for.
