Book Update: More Than 40 Interviews, Including Diamond Dallas Page

I’m now more than 40 interviews into my book project about the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling, and today I interviewed Diamond Dallas Page! Yes, the master of the Diamond Cutter and founder of DDP Yoga and I spoke at length about his time in TNA Wrestling. We discussed why he joined TNA, why he left, his thoughts on Jeff Jarrett, Dixie Carter, AJ Styles, and much more! I have many more interviews on the horizon, so stay tuned for more updates.

Last night was the long-awaited first PPV where IMPACT Wrestling and AEW collaborated on a main event match: Hard To Kill! What went down, did it live up to the hype, and what are my thoughts on the event overall? Read on.

New IMPACT Wrestling Broadcast Team Debuts at Hard To Kill

This Saturday is the biggest PPV for IMPACT Wrestling in many years because it’s the first time the company is collaborating with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) for a major event. Not only will AEW World Champion Kenny Omega be in the main event, but there will be a new broadcast team calling the action. IMPACT Wrestling announced that Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne are no longer doing play-by-play and color commentary. Starting at Hard To Kill, and going forward, Matt Striker and D’Lo Brown are taking over these duties. I’m thrilled to hear this news and can’t wait to see what this new team has to offer. Below is the full press release from IMPACT Wrestling with all of the details.

A lot has happened since then, including the announcement about my first-ever book, which is going to be two books about the 20-year history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling! My First Book: 20-Year History of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling

At long last — after debating it for many years — I’m writing my first book! And the scope of this project is so big that my first book is going to be two books. Yes, you read that right: two books! About what? The entirety of the first 20 years of TNA Wrestling, which is now known as IMPACT Wrestling.

IMPACT Wrestling presents its second-ever virtual fanfest, The Hard To Kill CELL-ebration, on Saturday, January 16, 2021. Movie Review: Relentless

Nearly two years ago I interviewed Diamond Dallas Page, the founder of DDP Yoga (DDPY) and a legend in the professional wrestling industry. It was an amazing discussion that resulted in a series of events: we became friends, I stayed at Dallas’ house for a week a few months later, he taught me DDPY at the largest workshop ever, and I became Philadelphia’s first-ever certified DDPY instructor, among other wonderful opportunities. If you want to get to know Diamond Dallas Page better and learn all about DPPY and why it’s so special, I implore you to watch his newly released documentary, Relentless, which is available on Amazon Prime Video.

Book Review: Under The Black Hat by Jim Ross

Jim Ross is the voice of professional wrestling — inarguably the greatest play-by-play announcer in the history of “this great sport,” as Tony Schiavone would say. He southern drawl and impassioned delivery defined the Attitude Era, and behind the scenes Jim signed some of the top talent to WWE, including Brock Lesnar, Christian, Chris Jericho, and Becky Lynch. His first book, Slobberknocker, was good but it focused on the earlier years in his life and career in wrestling. His newest memoir, Under The Black Hat, is the one everyone has been waiting for as it provides JR’s thoughts on his time in WWE and beyond.

TNA IMPACT Wrestling Annual Books

So far, in its nearly 20-year existence, there have only been three official books published by TNA/IMPACT Wrestling and they are the 2012, 2013, and 2014 editions of The Official TNA IMPACT Wrestling Annual. All three books were released in Europe, not the USA, but I got copies of them for a reasonable price on eBay. Below are three reviews providing you with a detailed look at each book.
