Last Saturday, April 22, I saw a great show featuring two phenomenal bands: Night Ranger and the incomparable Dennis DeYoung. They performed at Harrah’s in Atlantic City and it was one of those rare concerts where I was equally interested in both bands.
At the 2016 NJ KISS Expo the KISS Army descended upon the Hotel Somerset-Bridgewater to celebrate their favorite band: KISS. For those that haven’t been to one of these events before, there are various vendors, with tables overflowing with merchandise, special guests taking photos with fans and autographing items and other fun happenings for everyone to enjoy. Last Friday I attended my fourth Journey concert. This time I saw them in Atlantic City, New Jersey – and as always, they put on a phenomenal show. The set list was comprised of many of the band’s greatest hits, as well as some newer cuts, including “Faith In The Heartland” from Revelation and “Ritual” from Eclipse.
Eleven years ago I attended one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to: REO Speedwagon, Journey and Styx. Last Friday was my second REO Speedwagon concert. This time they shared the bill with Chicago in a musical tour de force that blew me away.
Last Friday Dionne Warwick performed in Atlantic City, NJ. But it wasn’t simply a concert; it was a monumental moment in the singer’s impressive 53-year career because she officially passed the baton of her family’s rich musical legacy – which is comprised of all-time greats such as Dionne, Leontyne Price and Whitney and Cissy Houston, among others – to her granddaughter: Cheyenne Elliott.
