AEW’s Unrestricted Podcast: Frankie Kazarian

Frankie Kazarian is one-half of the inaugural AEW World Tag Team Champions, SCU, and among the first wrestlers signed to AEW at launch. On the latest episode of AEW’s Unrestricted podcast, he speaks to how he got in at the ground floor, what The Young Bucks and “Being The Elite” did for SCU’s popularity, beating the Lucha Brothers for the tag title, and what it’s like having a beverage and talking shop with your boss. Frankie was Christian Cage’s first AEW opponent, and explains why he thinks Christian has the highest wrestling IQ of anyone he’s been in the ring with. Book Update: Total Nonstop IMPACT

Last night, I took part in another interview to promote my book project about the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling. This time I joined the guys on Total Nonstop IMPACT to provide insight into the process of working on this project over the past few months, what it was like being the first person ever to interview Keith Mitchell, and more. Book Update: Podcast Interview

After interviewing more than 100 people for my books about the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling, the tables have turned. Last night, I took part in my first interview to promote this book project by appearing on The Talking Nonsense About Impact Wrestling podcast. There’s so much to discuss about this project, and I’m constantly gathering new, compelling information every day. AEW’s Unrestricted Podcast: Matt Sydal

The latest guest on AEW’s Unrestricted podcast, Matt Sydal had some words of wisdom for Snoop Dogg before he did the “Snoop Splash” live on AEW Dynamite. Matt also had some encouraging words for himself after his not-so-perfect AEW debut at the ALL OUT Casino Battle Royale. He tells that story along with the last-minute phone call he received about the surprise booking.  He offers insight to the Third Eye gimmick, what it means to have a “Sydelic Mentality,” risk-taking in the ring, and why he is solely focused on the TNT Championship. Plus, Matt tells stories about working with Cody Rhodes, Chaos Project, learning from AEW coaches like Dean Malenko and Tully Blanchard, his love of Japanese death matches, and tagging with Ricochet at NJPW.

AEW’s Unrestricted Podcast: Dark Order’s John Silver & Alex Reynolds

The Dark Order’s John Silver and Alex Reynolds bring a whole new meaning to “Unrestricted” as they talk Beaver Boys, Bloody Nips and “slops!” They shed some light on the status of Dark Order numbers, the AEW locker room, BTE filming and why John Silver might be the best kisser in all of AEW. AEW’s Unrestricted Podcast: Wardlow

The latest episode of the AEW Unrestricted podcast features Wardlow, who is the newest member of the Inner Circle, and eating chicken is his third favorite thing to do after wrestling and working out! He chronicles his journey to AEW, his cage match against Cody and why his loss to Hangman Adam Page remains one of his favorite matches so far.  Wardlow also details his WWE tryout, his training in a dungeon in Cleveland and how he ended up in the Pittsburgh indie wrestling scene. He talks DC comics, his love of Bret “The Hitman” Hart and Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig, developing the devastating corner knee strike and his lone wolf mentality.

AEW’s Unrestricted Podcast: Anna Jay

The latest episode of the AEW Unrestricted podcast features Anna Jay. After signing with AEW, Anna soon found herself recruited to the Dark Order—hear how that happened, how she keeps a straight face when filming BTE with John Silver and more. Anna’s also talking about training at the Nightmare Factory with QT Marshall, tagging with Tay Conti, Jerry Lynn’s impact on her development and AEW career to date—and learning the sleeper hold from Arn Anderson. She remembers bonding with her dad over wrestling, the promos he used to cut on her as a kid and the inspiration for the “Star Of The Show.” And, she answers fan questions about Brodie Lee and the AEW Women’s World Championship.

Movie Review: The Wrestler

Today, I watched The Wrestler for the first time since it came out nearly 11 years ago. It is still a fantastic movie. It’s very much the pro wrestling version of Rocky Balboa, an equally fabulous piece of cinema that is gritty, authentic, and overflowing with emotion.
