Neil Diamond 2015 Philadelphia Concert: Melody Road Tour (Full Video)

On March 15, 2015, I saw my first and last Neil Diamond concert when he made a stop in Philadelphia on his Melody Road Tour. It was my last Neil Diamond show because he retired just a few years later after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. I recently came across the following full HD recording of that concert. It’s a great memory for me, and I hope you enjoy it too. Below is the full video and the setlist for the concert, as well as a video I recorded showing off the tour program I picked up at the concert. Neil Diamond may be done touring, but the music lives on.

Manilow Magic in Philly

I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to interview and spend time with countless music legends. Two of my favorites are Barry Manilow and Melissa Manchester, both of whom always treat me like family. Over the past week, I got to bring my Dads to see and meet Melissa and Barry. Both experiences were perfect. Below is a recap of our night of Manilow magic.

Meeting the Godfather of Shock Rock: Alice Cooper

Manilow’s Philly Farewell

FullSizeRender (7)Last week Barry Manilow ended his One Last Time! tour. I was fortunate to see and meet him twice on this tour. First in LA and, most recently, in Philadelphia. It was fitting that I saw and met Barry, supposedly for the last time, in the same arena where I saw him for the first time back in 2007. I say supposedly because Barry just announced today that he’s going to visit more cities on this tour. My fingers are crossed that he decides to go to Atlantic City or another nearby destination on the second leg of this tour. But I digress. Let me tell you all about his show in Philly.

Review – Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour

Michael Jackson ImmortalFor my birthday, my girlfriend got us tickets to see Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia last week. I’m a big fan of the late, great Michael Jackson’s music, and I enjoyed the Cirque du Soleil performance her and I saw last year, Totem, so I was eager to see the Michael Jackson show. As a tribute to the music and life of Michael Jackson, The Immortal, is great. It cleverly mashes up all the greatest hits, while peppering in obscure songs that will make hardcore MJ fans smile. Unfortunately, as a Cirque du Soleil production, it’s just OK. Unlike Totem, it lacks the mind-blowing acrobatics that makes people catch their breath. And having the event in the Wells Fargo Center, a massive arena, as opposed to the traditional Cirque du Soleil tent, made the stage and dancers feel small and less impactful. Don’t get me wrong, I had a blast. But I only recommend going to see Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour if you’re a big fan of Michael Jackson’s music.

To give you a taste of what to expect, below’s a preview of the show:
