Manilow Magic in Philly

I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to interview and spend time with countless music legends. Two of my favorites are Barry Manilow and Melissa Manchester, both of whom always treat me like family. Over the past week, I got to bring my Dads to see and meet Melissa and Barry. Both experiences were perfect. Below is a recap of our night of Manilow magic.

IMPACT Wrestling: Rebellion CELL-ebration

As you may recall, I took part in the Hard To Kill CELL-ebration hosted by IMPACT Wrestling. If you missed out on that interactive fan event, another opportunity is here! On Sunday, April 25, at 11 a.m. ET, IMPACT Wrestling is hosting its next CELL-ebration. This one is taking place several hours before the Rebellion PPV, which features a historic main event where AEW World Champion Kenny Omega faces off against IMPACT World Champion Rich Swann in a title vs. title match. Allentown’s Farewell KISS

On February 4 I attended my fourth KISS concert during the band’s End of the Road tour. It was the second date of this leg of the tour, and one of only two times that KISS is coming anywhere near Philadelphia this year. I already got a ticket for the other show, which takes place in Atlantic City in August. While seeing them in Philadelphia last March was spectacular, this concert may have surpassed it. The band was on fire in Allentown, and David Lee Roth’s killer opening set made the night even more fun.

Hershey’s Last KISS

Last night I attended my third concert, so far, on KISS’ End Of The Road Tour, and it was great! I previously saw the band back in the spring in Philadelphia and then Atlanta. Both of those shows were inside large arenas, while this one was outside, making for a totally different atmosphere. With 20,000 fans in attendance and sweltering heat, it was a high-energy performance that had people on their feet the entire time. And with it taking place in an amusement park, I know it conjured up images for fans of the cult classic KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park.

KISS Exercises Its Freedom To Rock

img_8110Last week I saw the greatest live spectacle on Earth: KISS. This was my 11th time seeing the band perform live, if you include the concerts I’ve attended and performances I’ve seen on the KISS Kruise and during backstage meet and greets. Speaking of meet and greets, thanks to the generosity and kindness of one of the band members, my cousin and I were part of KISS’ meet and greet in Allentown. Being able to share this amazing moment with my best friend and someone who loves KISS as much as I do, made for a special night neither of us will forget. Continue reading

Meeting the Godfather of Shock Rock: Alice Cooper

DSC08936As you know by now, one of my passions is music. And I love meeting the artists whose music inspires me. One of those individuals is Alice Cooper, whom I was lucky enough to meet this past Friday when he was in Philadelphia with Motley Crue.  Continue reading

Manilow Lights Up LA

On Tuesday night one of my dreams came true: I got to meet and have my photo taken with Barry Manilow. Having been a fan of his music for more than 10 years, being able to meet the man himself backstage before the concert was a fabulous experience I’ll never forget.

Peter Criss: What It Was Like Meeting ‘The Catman’

Meeting the legendary Peter Criss at the All Things That Rock festival in Oaks, PA.

Meeting the legendary Peter Criss at the All Things That Rock festival in Oaks, PA.

On Friday I met KISS’ original drummer, Peter Criss, at the All Things That Rock Festival in Oaks, PA. This was the culmination of a terrific, music-filled year where I met and had my photo taken with all of the original and current members of KISS. I also had the privilege of being in attendance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony earlier this year where KISS’ original lineup was honored.

Review: Ace Frehley’s Space Invader Tour

Meeting "Space Ace" in Glenside, PA before his show at The Keswick.

Meeting “Space Ace” in Glenside, PA before his show at The Keswick.

I never had a chance to see Ace Frehley, the original lead guitarist of KISS, perform with the band. By the time I started attending KISS shows, Tommy Thayer was the new “Space Man.” So, when Ace announced the tour for his new solo album – Space Invader – I was ready to finally see him live.

KISS: The Best Show On Earth

325

On Sunday I had my best concert experience ever when I attended KISS’ 40th Anniversary Tour performance in Camden, NJ. Not only was I front row for this concert, I attended a backstage meet and greet with the band, including an unmasked acoustic set and autograph session. I also did a separate guitar meet and greet with my favorite member of KISS – Paul Stanley – where I had the opportunity to interview him and leave with an autographed guitar that he’s never given away before. And lastly, I got to see Def Leppard perform too. It was an amazing night of epic proportions that may never be topped. Below is a run-through of all the night’s festivities that I took part in.
