Movie Review: Portal

Released just a couple days ago on digital and on demand, Portal is an award-winning supernatural horror film with an all-start cast. It features a rare appearance by iconic scream queen Heather Langenkamp, best known for her stellar work in the A Nightmare on Elm Street film franchise. When an ambitious ghost hunter performs a risky ritual, opening a portal to “the other side,” he and his team quickly find themselves way over their heads in a fight for survival against an ancient demonic force.

The moment I read that Portal featured Heather Lagenkamp, I was interested in watching it. I’m glad I did because it’s a short and sweet ghost hunter movie that kept me entertained from start to finish. As evidenced by the awards this film has won, the acting is well done and the story is solid. The final act is the best, with Heather Lagenkamp taking things to the next level. She was a joy to watch in Portal, as was the rest of the cast.

I’m not the biggest fan of ghost-related movies or TV shows, but I enjoyed Portal. It’s a no-nonsense paranormal horror film featuring a special and substantial appearance by my favorite scream queen. Portal is a well-written and well-acted cinematic experience that delivers the goods. If you’re looking for high-quality thrills and chills this Halloween, definitely check it out.

  1. This is a great review thx. I loved this movie for all the same reasons. Saw it at Shriekfest only ‘cuz of Heather Langemkamp. Thot it was going to be so-so b/c of OVER-used ghost hunter plot. But I was wrong it was really really good.
