Bloganuary: Five Things I Do For Fun

Today’s Bloganuary post is based on the prompt: “List five things you do for fun.” Read on for my response.

Music

Music is a massive part of who I am. I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing Barry Manilow, Dionne Warwick, KISS, Journey, Hall & Oates, and many other music icons.

I’ve seen all these musicians (and more) live numerous times. I’ve been on three KISS Kruises. I took singing lessons for several years, and I regularly sing to my son. Music is an essential part of life for me.

Reading

I read more than 100 books a year. I love audiobooks, ebooks, and physical books. Mysteries and thrillers are my go-to books. However, I also enjoy autobiographies, business books, self-development books, and more. I’m a voracious reader who consumes books daily.

Video Games

I love video games because they are the most immersive art form ever. It is an interactive artistic medium that is undeniably fun. I often play to experience epic stories in fantastical worlds like Tamriel in The Elder Scrolls Online. I find games like this one exhilarating and relaxing. There’s nothing like spending quality gaming time, and I look forward to doing so with my son when he’s old enough to play.

Writing

Considering I’m doing this writing challenge for the second year, I think it’s clear that I enjoy writing. Not only do I get paid to write, but I do it for fun. I’m writing a book about the first 20 years of TNA Wrestling, and I consistently write content for my site. Why? Because I enjoy it!

Movies & Televison

I’m cheating a bit here because this involves two activities, but they are incredibly similar. I love watching excellent movies and television: horror movies, Oscar-nominated films, superhero movies, and more. On TV, I enjoy dramas, comedies, and professional wrestling, among other genres. If it’s entertaining, count me in!
