In January, I took part in a WordPress challenge called Bloganuary. Every day for 31 days, I received a writing prompt to inspire me to write a post for that day, which I did. During those 31 days, I sang a song for you, wrote a poem, shared childhood memories, offered advice and aspirations, and much more. Below are what I consider to be the best of Bloganuary in no particular order. Thank you to those who read my posts and engaged with them. I appreciate it. I hope you enjoy this greatest hits retrospective of this fun writing challenge.Continue reading

What would you title your autobiography?
Today’s Bloganuary prompt is “What would you title the chapters of your autobiography?” I don’t like that question because I think it’s too difficult to answer accurately, and I don’t think the answer is compelling. Instead, I’ve modified it to: What would you title your autobiography? That’s a far better question, easier to answer, and makes for a more readable post. Below is my answer to this question, and don’t forget to let me know yours.Continue reading
What is a song or poem that speaks to you and why?
What is a song or poem that speaks to you and why? For me, it’s “Hell Yeah” by Neil Diamond. Watch the video below of me singing “Hell Yeah” a capella, let me know your thoughts on it, and share with me what song or poem speaks to you and why.Continue reading

2013: It Was A Very Good Year
2013 was my first full year of blogging, and it was a great one. I wrote 174 posts and exceeded 20,000 views, reaching people in 118 countries. I also had the honor and privilege of interviewing some of my favorite authors, actors and musicians, including:
- Lisa Scottoline
- Andrew Gross
- Melissa Manchester
- Michael Des Barres
- Douglas Preston
- Jon Land
- M.J. Rose
- Steven James
- Taylor Stevens
- Donald Bain
- Thomas B. Sawyer
- Dick Hill
And 2014 is shaping up to be an even bigger year with interviews already scheduled with 2014 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee John Oates and bestselling author Stuart Woods.
Thanks to all of you who regularly read my posts, as well as those who take the time to comment. Speaking of which, below are my top commenters’ great blogs. Make sure to check them out:
2013 was my best year yet, both personally and professionally, and I plan on making 2014 even more special.
Happy New Year!
My First 1,000
My blog has been live for less than two months, and I just eclipsed 1,000 visits. While I’m sure this isn’t a big deal for some bloggers, to me, it’s exciting. I’ve come to learn that one of the addictive qualities of blogging is checking my stats page, so passing this threshold was a real treat. Thanks to everyone that’s visited, liked and/or followed my blog thus far. I’d also like to thank those that post comments; I’m always interested in what you have to say, so please keep it up. Here’s to the next 1,000!
