IMPACT Wrestling: Laurel Van Ness and Braxton Sutter’s Wedding

IMPACT Wrestling has had a tumultuous history, and one of the craziest years was 2017. There were a few moments of magic sprinkled throughout. One of them was the wedding of Laurel Van Ness and Braxton Sutter. For my money, it was the best wrestling wedding ever. Don’t believe me? Watch the full segment below. 20 Years of IMPACT: 2017

Eli Drake’s loud mouth and brash attitude immediately got attention when he debuted in 2015. From his time in The Rising to his run as King of the Mountain Champion to his rivalry with EC3 – people immediately identified him as a future World Champion. Lashley defeated Eddie Edwards to regain the title in a classic 30 Minute Iron Man at Genesis but a Gauntlet for the Gold in August for the vacant championship gave Drake his best chance yet. He overcame 20 men including former champions Eddie Edwards, Lashley and EC3 as well as the debuting Johnny IMPACT to become champion. Drake then immediately entered a rivalry with Johnny including main eventing Bound For Glory, but Drake would hang onto the title for the rest of the year.

Review: NWA 73

It was quite the weekend for the NWA. This past Saturday was its first all-women PPV, EmPowerrr, and on Sunday NWA 73 took place, with both events emanating from The Chase in St. Louis. As with NWA Powerrr, these PPVs aired exclusively on FITE. If you want to watch EmPowerrr, you can do so here, and NWA 73 can be watched here. IMPACT Wrestling Report: Slammiversary Review

This past Saturday, July 17, IMPACT Wrestling welcomed back fans for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it did so with one of the biggest shows of the year: Slammiversary on FITE. This year’s event marks the 19th anniversary of IMPACT Wrestling, formerly TNA Wrestling. As many of you know, I’m writing a book about the first 20 years of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling. IMPACT Wrestling Report: Rebellion Review

Last night was Rebellion! We got the historic main event featuring AEW World Champion Kenny Omega in a Title vs. Title Match against IMPACT World Champion Rich Swann, as well as a slew of additional bouts that resulted in a fast-paced and, ultimately, satisfying show that I rank among some of the greatest wrestling PPVs I’ve ever seen.
