Ace Frehley with the medical staff of Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

On Friday night I drove out to Wilkes-Barre to see Ace Frehley perform and meet him after the show. My friend and I had planned on going to Ace’s show in New Hope the weekend prior but it was cancelled last-minute because Ace was feeling under the weather. With the recent release of his new album, Ace has been pushing himself hard to make appearances, perform shows and handle a myriad of media opportunities. This hectic schedule took its toll on Ace and he was rushed to the hospital following his performance in Wilkes-Barre. While Ace’s meet and greet after the Wilkes-Barre show was understandably cancelled as a result of this health scare, I’m happy to report that “Space Ace” has been released from Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and is back home in Southern California recuperating.

John Waite Kicks Off Acoustic Tour in New Hope

Photo with John Waite - 2016This past Tuesday night John Waite kicked off his acoustic “Wooden Heart” tour in New Hope, PA and I was fortunate enough to be front row for the show. As with the three previous times I saw John live, this concert was excellent. However, it being an acoustic performance made for a much different atmosphere. This time around the performance was more intimate and the softer guitars placed John’s voice front and center, which is a good thing because the first time he sang a note it blew my mind how good he still sounds. The man is 63, yet his voice barely sounds any different than it did back in the 1980s. His tone is perfect and he emotes in a way few of his peers can. It’s really something to marvel. But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s start at the beginning.

Michael Des Barres Is The Key To The Universe

MDB0297--Jeff FasanoAny time I get to talk to the wonderful Michael Des Barres, it’s always a treat. He’s an incredibly talented artist brimming with charisma and bursting with positivity. While some may know him as Murdoc from MacGyver, I know him best for his impressive body of work as a musical artist. Speaking of which, Michael has a new album out called The Key to the Universe. It’s an excellent follow-up to his last studio album, the equally fabulous Carnaby Street. If you enjoy balls-to-the-wall classic rock, then I highly recommend both of these albums.

Michael took the time to sit down with me and discuss The Key to the Universe. We covered everything from his recording the album in Rome to writing one of the tracks with guitar virtuoso Steve Stevens. It was a fun interview and I hope you enjoy it.

A Conversation With The Babys’ John Bisaha

img_0931One of my all-time favorite classic rock bands is The Babys. Well, I’ve got good news! The Babys are back with a new lineup and a new album – I’ll Have Some Of That! – which features some killer material that all classic rock fans must check out.

The lead singer of The Babys, John Bisaha, was kind enough to speak with me about his interesting musical journey, including his influences, what it was like auditioning to be The Babys’ new lead vocalist and how he used to hang out with Karen Carpenter as a kid. It’s a great interview and I think you’re going to really enjoy it.
