Is the Spray Paint Simulator Submariner DLC Worth $4?

Back in 2025, I took a trip to the charming town of Spatterville and discovered just how satisfying it can be to breathe new life into a faded world. In my original review of Spray Paint Simulator for Xbox, I highlighted how the game masterfully balances meditative, rhythmic gameplay with the light strategic fun of running a business. Watching a rusty bench or a worn-out door transform under a perfect, crisp layer of paint was incredibly gratifying.

Now, developer North Star Video Games and publisher Whitethorn Games have dropped the Submariner DLC, and it is time to grab the masking tape, pack up the ladders, and see if this new content captures that same magical, uplifting energy.

For just $3.99, the Submariner DLC adds two brand-new, vastly different jobs to your work order list. If you thought the base game pushed your precision to its limits, wait until you see what these new canvases demand.

Living on the Edge: Why Psyvariar 3 is the Most Thrilling $20 You’ll Spend on Xbox This Year

If you told me at the start of the year that one of my favorite Xbox gaming experiences of 2026 would be a sequel to a niche, Japanese arcade shoot-’em-up (SHMUP) that hasn’t seen a mainline entry in over two decades, I probably would have laughed. Yet, here I am, completely hooked on Psyvariar 3.

Developed by Banana Bytes (the team behind Sophstar) and published by Red Art Games, this vertical shooter is an absolute masterclass in high-risk, high-reward gameplay. For $19.99, it offers an incredible amount of content that both honors its arcade roots and modernizes the genre for today’s controllers.

Why ‘Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown’ is a Sci-Fi Survival Masterpiece

I’ve played a lot of Star Trek games over the years, and most of them tend to follow a pretty predictable formula: you fly around, shoot some phasers, scan a few anomalies, and call it a day. But Daedalic Entertainment and Gamexcite just dropped something entirely different on Xbox Series X|S.

Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown (Deluxe Edition) throws out the standard power fantasy and replaces it with a stressful, brilliant, and deeply addictive story-driven survival strategy loop. If you’ve ever wanted to know what Frostpunk or FTL would feel like set in the Trek universe, this is your answer.

It’s out right now on Xbox Series X|S, and here is the best news: it’s a day-one Game Pass drop. If you’re a subscriber, you can download it on your console, PC, or even stream it via Xbox Cloud Gaming immediately.

Pinball FX: How to Play Classic Williams Diner, Fire!, and Comet Tables on Xbox

If you grew up pouring quarters into arcade machines, or if you just appreciate the unmatched art of 1980s mechanical game design, Zen Studios just dropped a massive treat. Williams Pinball Volume 10 has officially landed on Pinball FX for Xbox Series X|S, and it is a pure hit of mid-to-late ’80s nostalgia.

R-Type Dimensions 3 Xbox Review — Old-School Challenge Meets Modern Visuals

If you followed my preview post back in January, you know how excited I was for the release of R-Type Dimensions III. ININ Games promised a definitive modern rebuild of the iconic sci-fi shoot-’em-up, and after spending significant time blasting through the Bydo Empire on Xbox Series X, I’m thrilled to report that it completely delivers.

For the uninitiated, R-Type is royalty in the side-scrolling shmup genre. It’s legendary for its precision gameplay, atmospheric bio-mechanical horror, and an unforgiving-but-fair difficulty curve. Dimensions III takes the foundational DNA of the arcade classics and masterfully elevates it for a modern generation of pilots.

Here is why this package is an absolute triumph for retro purists and newcomers alike.

Is LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight the Best Batman Game Ever Made?

Batman has always been my absolute favorite superhero. Hands down. Out of all the caped and cowled figures in comic book history, he’s consistently been the most fascinating to me. He doesn’t have alien superpowers; he has unmatched drive, brilliant detective skills, and an unparalleled psychological complexity.

But let’s be honest: a hero is only as good as his rogues’ gallery, and Batman has the absolute best villains in fiction. I have always loved his antagonists, especially the Penguin and, of course, the Joker. And while there have been many incredible interpretations over the decades, Jack Nicholson in the 1989 film will always be the definitive, gold-standard Joker for me.

That deep-seated love for the lore is exactly why my expectations were sky-high for TT Games’ latest release. And yet, it completely blew me away.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight for Xbox is, without a doubt, my favorite game of the year so far, and it easily stands as one of the greatest Batman video games ever made.

Black Jacket: Master the Odds in a Sinister Casino

Ever since Balatro completely hijacked our collective free time, the gaming world has been desperately hunting for the next great roguelike card obsession. There is something intoxicating about taking a classic, universally understood tabletop game, wrapping it in modern mechanics, and giving players the power to break the rules.

Enter Black Jacket, developed by Mi’pu’mi Games and published by Skystone Games. It dropped quietly on Xbox Series X|S last month for $14.99, and if you have any weakness for deckbuilders or high-stakes risk-management, it is going to absolutely ruin your sleep schedule.

But instead of playing with a poker hand, this time you’re sitting down at the ultimate underworld casino floor. Your game of choice? Blackjack. The stakes? Your literal soul.

Explore Monster Crown: Sin Eater’s Unique Monster Creation System

Whether you grew up with a Game Boy in your hands or you’re just a fan of deep RPGs, you’ve probably felt that itch for a creature-collector that actually respects your intelligence. Most games in the genre lean into the “cuddly” and “whimsical,” but Monster Crown: Sin Eater—just released on Xbox—is a very different beast.

If the original Monster Crown was a love letter to the darker corners of 90s handheld gaming, Sin Eater is the grit and the consequence that comes after. Here’s why this one should be on your radar.

Zombies Overloaded: The Ultimate Arcade Shooter on Xbox

Whether you’re looking to blow off some steam after a long day or you’ve got a weirdly specific itch for arcade-style carnage, there’s a new indie title on Xbox that might catch your eye: Zombies Overloaded.

Developed by Vinterm Games, this title isn’t trying to be the next Last of Us with deep, emotional storytelling. Instead, it leans hard into that classic “Smash TV” vibe—one room, a ton of weapons, and way too many zombies.

Here’s the lowdown on what it’s like to actually play it.
