20 Years of IMPACT: 2011

Sting, feeling TNA didn’t heed his warnings about Hulk Hogan and Immortal in 2010, vanished for much of the start of 2011. The tide began to turn in February when Fortune broke off from Immortal to stand alone and oppose them. This time Scott Steiner was the harbinger of change announcing “They” were coming as AJ Styles, Bobby Roode, James Storm and Kazarian stood up for TNA. They were soon bolstered as the returning Sting defeated Jeff Hardy to become World Champion in March. Immortal would maintain momentum with new members like Matt Hardy and Kurt Angle but the core dispute to be resolved centered around Hogan and Sting. The two legends of pro wrestling facing off was inevitable.

20 Years of IMPACT: 2010

The game changed on January 4, 2010. Hulk Hogan arrived in TNA. In one of the most hotly anticipated episodes of IMPACT ever, the world was watching as “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan stepped inside the IMPACT Zone for the first time. On the same night as “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair also made his debut and “The Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy returned for the first time since 2006, Hulk Hogan walked out to both an explosive reaction from the crowd and an explosive amount of pyro. TNA would never be the same again as Scott Hall and Sean Waltman confronted Hogan, which drew out Kevin Nash and yet another new face – Eric Bischoff. Unresolved issues from the past 15 years of wrestling were once again rearing their head and it would dominate TNA for the years to come.

Book Update: Velvet Sky!

I’ve got a big update on my book project: I had the opportunity to conduct a two-hour interview with the most popular female wrestler in the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling, Velvet Sky! Yes, that’s right, I’ve now interviewed both of the original members of The Beautiful People: Angelina Love and Velvet Sky.

Book Update: Matt Hardy!

Tonight I had a 90+ minute interview with Matt Hardy! Yes, the legendary wrestler’s commentary about TNA and his time in the company is going to be part of my books about the promotion’s history. Having the opportunity to interview both Jeff and Matt Hardy is something I never thought would happen coming into this project, but I’m eternally grateful that it did. Matt and I covered his first run in 2011, coming back in 2014, winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, Big Money Matt Hardy, Broken Matt Hardy, The Final Deletion, Total Nonstop Deletion, Delete or Decay, his recent return to IMPACT Wrestling, and more. It was an absolute honor and pleasure speaking with Matt Hardy, and I have an even greater respect for the man and his creativity as a result of our conversation.

IMPACT Wrestling Report: BTI, No Surrender, New Japan Pro-Wrestling

It’s been a while since my last IMPACT Wrestling Report, but that’s because I’ve been very busy doing interviews for my books about the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling. Some of the people I’ve interviewed in recent weeks include Gail Kim, Ken Shamrock, Earl Hebner, and Jeff Hardy, who is the most popular wrestler in IMPACT Wrestling history and, currently, one of the top guys in WWE. Make sure to sign up for email alerts on my site so you don’t miss out on any future book updates because there are many more to come.

This past week was a big one in IMPACT Wrestling. The company announced a new TV show, which premieres tomorrow night, No Surrender aired on Saturday, and a partnership was revealed with New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). Let’s dive in!

Book Update: Jeff Hardy!

I’ve got my biggest book update yet: I interviewed Jeff Hardy! Yes, the most popular wrestler in the history of TNA spoke with me at length about his time in the company. We talked about his first run with the promotion, winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship multiple times, his Victory Road 2011 match against Sting, overcoming personal demons, his feud with “Broken” Matt Hardy, Dixie Carter, Hulk Hogan, Jeff Jarrett, and so much more! It was an honor to speak with “The Charismatic Enigma” because he’s not only a professional wrestling legend but a creative genius. I look forward to including his commentary in both of my books about the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling!

Book Update: Rob Van Dam

Today I may have conducted the biggest interview for my books about the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling yet: Rob Van Dam! Mr. Monday Night talked to me about his two runs in the promotion, including stories about Hulk Hogan, Sting, Sami Callihan, Jeff Hardy, Paul Heyman, and much more. RVD is the only man to have held the ECW, WWE, and TNA World Heavyweight Championships, yet he comes off as the super cool dude we all know and love on TV. I couldn’t be more grateful to have had the chance to speak with this wrestling icon, and I look forward to sharing his stories with you in my books.

TNA IMPACT Wrestling Annual Books

So far, in its nearly 20-year existence, there have only been three official books published by TNA/IMPACT Wrestling and they are the 2012, 2013, and 2014 editions of The Official TNA IMPACT Wrestling Annual. All three books were released in Europe, not the USA, but I got copies of them for a reasonable price on eBay. Below are three reviews providing you with a detailed look at each book.
