When I reviewed the base game of Dustwind: Resistance on Xbox, I praised its brutal, methodical real-time tactical combat. It captured that old-school isometric grit where patience, positioning, and strict ammo conservation were the only things keeping your squad alive. Later, in my review of the Canyon Cross DLC, I looked at how Z-Software expanded those mechanics into open, multi-tiered canyon environments, leveraging verticality and sniper sightlines to sharpen the tactical challenge.
With Tunnels of Death, the developers go in the exact opposite direction—and it might just be the most tense Xbox expansion yet.
