On December 1, I attended my first live event at Madison Square Garden and my final KISS concert. I enjoyed six shows on KISS’ End of the Road Tour, and being part of the band’s final shows in its birthplace, New York City, was the icing on the cake. KISS just announced the final 50 shows of its End of the Road World Tour, and the band is ending its last tour ever with a two-night stand at Madison Square Garden in New York City. I secured a ticket for night one (December 1) of this history farewell to the KISS Army in the city the band was born 50 years ago. On October 22, 2022, KISS played a secret show for Philip Morris International, the largest tobacco company in the world, according to Robert Moseley, who was in attendance. This private concert was not open to the public, and it took place at Vulcan Gas Company, a small club at 418 E 6th St in downtown Austin. No more than 100 people attended the concert. On August 21, I attended what may have been my final KISS concert ever. At this point, I’ve seen the band live more than 20 times, including five dates on its End Of The Road World Tour. If this was my last show, I went out on top because I watched the entire performance from the pit, which is in between the stage and the front row. Being in the pit was not planned ahead of time, but it was a fantastic surprise. Read on for my thoughts on my last KISS.

Last night, I took part in yet another episode of the KISSFAQ podcast. This time around we talked about the upcoming KISS fan-film from Andrew Sgambati entitled One Last Time. Airing May 15 on YouTube and Vimeo, One Last Time is an excellent documentary focused on Andrew’s KISS fandom and the band’s End Of The Road World Tour. On February 4 I attended my fourth KISS concert during the band’s End of the Road tour. It was the second date of this leg of the tour, and one of only two times that KISS is coming anywhere near Philadelphia this year. I already got a ticket for the other show, which takes place in Atlantic City in August. While seeing them in Philadelphia last March was spectacular, this concert may have surpassed it. The band was on fire in Allentown, and David Lee Roth’s killer opening set made the night even more fun.
The end is near. On KISS Kruise IX, while amongst the KISS Navy, KISS revealed the band’s final performance on its “End Of The Road” tour. It’s taking place on July 17, 2021 in New York City, where the band was formed, at a yet-to-be-announced location. The band already performed at Madison Square Garden, so that’s out of the question. Will it be at Citi Field in Queens? How about Central Park? No one knows, but I’m sure we’ll find out in the months to come.
Last night I attended my third concert, so far, on KISS’ End Of The Road Tour, and it was great! I previously saw the band back in the spring in Philadelphia and then Atlanta. Both of those shows were inside large arenas, while this one was outside, making for a totally different atmosphere. With 20,000 fans in attendance and sweltering heat, it was a high-energy performance that had people on their feet the entire time. And with it taking place in an amusement park, I know it conjured up images for fans of the cult classic KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park.
