In the fall of 2002 one of the greatest books about KISS was released – KISS Alive Forever: The Complete Touring History. At nearly 300 pages in length, this oversized tome was bursting with factoids and data unlike any of its predecessors, as well as more than 175 color photos from all eras of KISStory. This book, which took seven years for the authors, Curt Gooch and Jeff Suhs, to create, is becoming an eBook for the first time ever. On June 5 you’ll be able to get your hands on a digital copy of “The Holy Grail of KISS Books” via Apple’s iBooks store.
During my interview with John Waite last year he mentioned wanting his next album to be an acoustic one. And less than a year later it’s here: Wooden Heart: Acoustic Volume 1. While it’s not a full-length album, the four songs on this EP, two of which were penned by Richard Thompson, are excellent. What makes these songs so enjoyable is the stripped-down arrangement, brilliant lyrics and heartfelt vocals. If I had to pick a favorite track, it would be “The One Who Got Away,” a Waite original that sounds both classic and modern. Autographed copies of this new release are available on John’s site and digital copies can be found on iTunes. If you love music as much as I do, make sure to pick up a copy of this brilliant EP.
I’ve had the Kindle Fire HD for a little over a week, so I thought I’d create a video review – my first ever – so you can learn more about this device and its capabilities. Below, you’ll also find a video further explaining “Whispersync for Voice,” a new feature I love. Enjoy!
