Our New Kitten: Penny

first-photo-with-pennyOn Friday, November 25, Stephanie and I adopted a kitten and named her Penny. This was an impulse adoption. I had planned on bringing Stephanie to Morris Animal Refuge on her birthday, but we were walking by and she asked if we could go in to look at the kittens so I figured, why not?

The classic rock band Enuff Z’Nuff just released Clowns Lounge, a collection of rarities and early demos that have been partially reworked and re-recorded by the band. This exceptional collection also features a guest appearance from the late Jani Lane, of Warrant, as well as an appearance from James Young of Styx on “The Devil Of Shakespeare.” Prior to the release of this excellent album, I had the opportunity to interview the band’s founder and bassist, Chip Z’Nuff. Check out our discussion below, pick up a copy of Clowns Lounge and look out for Enuff Z’Nuff in early 2017 when they’re touring with KISS’ original guitarist, Ace Frehley.

Dionne Warwick’s Tropical Love

dionne-warwick-tropical-loveDionne Warwick is a five-time Grammy award-winning pop music icon. She’s also my favorite female vocalist of all time. The reason why is because she has one of the most beautiful, versatile and emotionally-charged voices in the history of music. She also has an expansive and diverse catalog of music that is compelling, satisfying and extraordinary.

A Conversation With Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider

dee-sniderLess than 24 hours before Twisted Sister’s historic final performance, I interviewed the band’s frontman: Dee Snider. Playing With Power: Nintendo NES Classics

playing-with-powerDK Publishing, the company that has created countless terrific pop culture books that I’ve reviewed, has just released Playing With Power: Nintendo NES Classics. This beautiful hardback book celebrates the history of the most iconic and influential video game system of all time, as well as the games that defined it. It’s a great companion piece to the newly released, yet hard-to-find, NES Classic Edition. Below is my full video review. Enjoy!

KISS Kruise VI: Creatures Of The Deep

212_kiss_img_0217

I recently returned from KISS Kruise VI, my third and final time on the high seas with the “Hottest Band in the World”: KISS. Each KISS Kruise I’ve been on has been special. KISS Kruise III was my first time partaking in such a wild adventure, I got to see and discover bands I knew little about (i.e.,  Night Ranger and Vintage Trouble) and I made a slew of new friends. On KISS Kruise IV I was dressed to the nines with my favorite band as we took part in the the greatest photo I’ll ever get with KISS because we were all “Dressed to Kill.” And this year’s KISS Kruise was special for a variety of reasons. Let me tell you all about it.

Here’s a recap of this fun evening, along with photos taken by Stephanie backstage after the show. Enjoy!

Yesterday I returned from KISS Kruise VI, my third and final sea-bound voyage with the “Hottest Band in the World,” and a few days prior to this trip I interviewed the band’s lead guitarist: Tommy Thayer. As you can see below, I asked Tommy several questions that many fans want answers to and he was more than happy to oblige. Stay tuned for my full recap of KISS Kruise VI, which I’ll post when I get my photo with the band, which should be at some point later this month. Until then, I hope you enjoy my interview with Tommy!
