Book Update: Dan Severn

When NWA-TNA was formed in 2002, Dan “The Beast” Severn was the reigning NWA World Heavyweight Champion. He was stripped of his title, which was then won by Ken Shamrock, whom I also interviewed, at the first ever NWA-TNA pay-per-view. What are Dan’s thoughts on this and why wasn’t he part of NWA-TNA? You’ll find out in my book because I had the pleasure of speaking with Dan about this. He shared with me his candid thoughts on the situation, Jeff Jarrett, Ken Shamrock, and more.

I started this website in 2012, reaching just a few thousand people. As I head into 2022, which will be my site’s 10th year, I’m reaching more people than ever before. 2020 was my all-time best year for traffic, and this year I broke that record by 54%, reaching hundreds of thousands of people in 145 countries. TNA/IMPACT Book Update: Tommy Dreamer

On the eve of Bound For Glory, IMPACT Wrestling’s biggest show of the year, I’m proud to say that I was the first person Tommy Dreamer agreed to do an interview with following his recent appearance on Dark Side of the Ring. It was a two-part interview, covering all of Tommy’s time with the company, both in and out of the ring. We talked about Bob Ryder, Jeff Jarrett, Dixie Carter, Scott D’Amore, COVID, “Action” Mike Jackson, Paul Heyman, Daffney, and a whole lot more. Of course, we also discussed Dark Side of the Ring too. Tommy has always had my respect, and it was an honor and pleasure to speak with him at length for my book about the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling.

Heels: My New Favorite TV Show

I watched all eight episodes of Heels in five days on Starz because it’s that damn good. Heels is a story about the men and women who chase their dreams in the world of small-town pro wrestling. Set in a close-knit Georgia community, it follows a family-owned wrestling promotion as two brothers, and rivals, war over their late father’s legacy. In the ring, somebody must play the good guy and somebody must play their nemesis, the heel. But in the real world, those characters can be hard to live up to — or hard to leave behind. Read on for my thoughts on this compelling new drama.

I’ve been in touch with Jeff Jarrett since I started working on my book about the history of TNA/IMPACT Wrestling. However, he has yet to agree to do an interview with me for the project. So, when I heard that Jeff was coming to my city — Philadelphia — I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to meet Double J for the first time ever and see if I could convince him to speak with me for my book.
