If you’ve been following my recent posts, then you know I’ve been doing Atkins and seeing terrific results because of this lifestyle change. I find it fitting that I decided to get into Atkins in 2022, the 50th anniversary of Dr. Robert C. Atkins’ seminal book that brought the low-carb approach to millions of people the world over. Below is my review of the updated version of Dr. Atkins’ New Diet Revolution, released in 2002. The audiobook, which is what I’m reviewing here, came out in 2004.

Audiobook Review: The Atkins Essentials
This year, 2022, is the 50th anniversary of the Atkins Nutritional Approach. First introduced to the world in the wildly popular 1972 book Dr. Atkins’ Diet Revolution, this healthy lifestyle is still going strong years after its founder, Dr. Robert C. Atkins, passed away. Considering Dr. Atkins wrote nearly 20 books, and there are even more official Atkins books to read, where should you start if you’re new to Atkins and want a solid primer on the topic? I recommend The Atkins Essentials. Read on for my thoughts on this audiobook.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck by Mark Manson is one of the most wildly successful books I’ve ever seen. On Audible, it has nearly 150,000 reviews, beating out the Harry Potter books by a wide margin. In the author’s words, is this book “worth giving a fuck” about? Read on for my thoughts.

Continue readingNitro by Guy Evans
Nitro by Guy Evans is the best book ever written about Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling. Prior to this book’s existence, The Death of WCW held this title. Not anymore. At nearly 600 pages, Nitro features interviews with over 120 former TBS and WCW employees. The author also had access to a myriad of internal WCW documents, providing the reader with the nitty gritty details when it comes to contracts, PPV revenue, and more. For a topic that has been covered ad nauseam, Nitro is a fresh take on one of the wildest times in professional wrestling, providing the most comprehensive and satisfying account of the rise and fall of WCW.
Audible Review: The Quick Red Fox
The Quick Red Fox is the fourth book in the Travis McGee series and it’s the first one that I didn’t care for, which surprised me. While this audiobook is well narrated and that McGee charm is pervasive, the story itself is incredibly slow. It takes forever for something meaningful to happen and there are a significant amount of inner-dialogue moments, which slow down the story even further. It’s a shame because I wanted to like this audiobook much more than I did. That said, I still look forward to future entries in the series.
Book Review: On Power by Gene Simmons
Gene Simmons is a busy man. When he’s not skulking across the stage at a KISS show, he’s performing with his solo band, appearing at comic conventions, talking about his forthcoming career-spanning box set, The Vault, or promoting his new book: On Power.

Book Review: Encyclopedia of KISS
As many of you know by now, KISS is my favorite rock band so when Brett Weiss, the author of Encyclopedia of KISS, asked me if I’d review his new book I was happy to do so. With so many great KISS books available, you might be wondering, is this one worth my money? Watch my video review below to find out.
