My First DDP Yoga Class

Advertisements

This morning I taught my first class as a certified DDP Yoga instructor. If you want to be notified about where and when future classes are taking place, please sign up for my email list here. The crazy thing is that this time last year I wasn’t even doing DDP Yoga. As with many fitness programs, it was one of those things I started and stopped a few times. In December 2018, I decided to recommit myself to doing it regularly. Shortly thereafter, I interviewed the CEO and founder of DDP Yoga: Diamond Dallas Page. I followed that up with a week-long stay at Dallas’ house in April, a DDP Yoga workshop in July, and enrollment in the DDP Yoga certification program. I completed the DDP Yoga certification process in less than six months and became the first Philadelphian to be a certified DDP Yoga instructor. In a city known for its firsts, I’m proud of this accomplishment. With all of this in mind, I headed into my first class this morning as a certified DDP Yoga instructor.

Monster-Mania With DDP

Advertisements

I’ve attended Monster-Mania in Cherry Hill numerous times, including this past August when I met Clive Barker. However, I’ve never gone to the events they put on in Maryland. When I saw that my friend Diamond Dallas Page was going to be there, I decided to make the trip. I hadn’t seen him since I attended his DDP Yoga workshop in July, and I also wanted to get a great professional photo with him. This was my chance to make that happen.

In The Snake Pit With Jake Roberts

Advertisements

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing the legendary professional wrestler Jake “The Snake” Roberts. As you may recall, Jake and I lived together for a week back in April of this year when I stayed at Diamond Dallas Page’s house in Smyrna. During that trip, I didn’t ask Jake about anything related to wrestling because he was resting up from life on the road. Instead, we hung out, watched TV, had dinner together, and joked around like two regular guys. For the purposes of this interview, Jake and I talked about his impressive wrestling career, The Resurrection of Jake the Snake, DDP Yoga, and much more. Visit Jake’s site and follow him on social media for the latest details regarding Jake’s amazing one-man show and all of the exciting projects he has on the horizon.

Largest DDP Yoga Workshop Ever

Advertisements

In December 2018 I recommitted myself to doing DDP Yoga several times a week, proving that the third time is the charm. Since then, I’ve had some amazing experiences. I interviewed and befriended the founder of the program, Diamond Dallas Page, stayed at his house in Smyrna for a week with professional wrestling legend Jake “The Snake” Roberts as my housemate, attended seven DDP Yoga classes over the course of five days at the DDP Yoga Performance Center, and I’m currently pursuing my DDP Yoga Level 1 certification, so I can teach this great program in Philadelphia. My latest DDP Yoga milestone was attending Dallas’ DDP Yoga workshop at the LifeMed Institute on Sunday, July 21. With 185 people in attendance, it was the largest DDP Yoga workshop ever.

I’m the latest guest on DDP Radio, the long-running live radio show and podcast about all things DDP Yoga, and you can listen to it below. On this episode, I talk about my DDP Yoga journey thus far, including the amazing past six months I’ve experienced, as well as what lies ahead. It was a blast taking part in this episode, and I hope you enjoy it!

Audiobook Review: Breathe To Succeed

Advertisements

Breathe To Succeed is focused on the power of mindfulness and owning one’s breath. As someone who does DDP Yoga every day, I fully understand the power of my breath. While this is an important concept to understand and master, it doesn’t warrant an audiobook that is nearly five hours long. The narrator does a fine job with the material, and the author clearly cares about the subject matter. However, I think it would be better suited for a TED Talk or a podcast episode, not a full-length book. Therefore, I can’t recommend it unless you know absolutely nothing about owning your breath and are willing to sit through a nearly-five-hour discussion about it. If that sounds appealing, this is the book for you. If not, you should read a more comprehensive book on mindfulness.

My Epic Week At The Accountability Crib

Last week I was in Atlanta for a legal marketing conference, which was great. I attended the conference all three days, including numerous panels and networking activities. I also made time before and after the conference to enjoy myself, including a KISS concert, working out at the DPP Yoga Performance Center, and staying at Diamond Dallas Page’s Accountability Crib. Best of all, Jake “The Snake” Roberts was my roommate.

Meeting Meat Loaf

Advertisements

Last Saturday I met Meat Loaf. No, not the dinner entree. The iconic singer who won a Grammy for “I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That)” and sold more than 80 million albums throughout his diverse and prolific career. The first step was getting a professional photo with Meat (that’s the name he likes to go by), which you can see above. I came up with my outfit the day of the event and I think it turned out great. Thankfully, my hair was behaving too. As for the photo itself, it’s perfect and everything I hoped it would be. But let’s get into what it was like to meet Meat.
