The Resurrection of Jake the Snake is one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen, and it’s easily my favorite. I’ve watched it several times and it still makes me cry. That’s how powerful it is — I know what’s coming, yet the tears always flow. This riveting cinematic experience chronicles professional wrestling legend and founder of DDP Yoga Diamond Dallas Page helping his mentor, friend, and fellow wrestling luminary, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, topple addiction over the course of 18 months. It’s a perilous journey with disheartening lows and unimaginable highs. What I love most about The Resurrection of Jake The Snake is how it perfectly captures the triumph of the human spirit. Not only does DDP inspire Jake to turn his life around, he also gets Scott Hall — another one of pro wrestling’s ticking time bombs — to move in with them at the Accountability Crib so he can also transform his life for the better. Keep in mind that these are the two pro wrestlers that people thought were going to wind up dead at any given moment. Both of these men are friends who helped Dallas get his big break, and he never forgot what they did for him. Rather than have their lives cut short by self-destructive behavior, DDP stuck out a hand and helped Jake and Scott rise above the maelstrom of sadness and pain their lives had become so they could achieve their full potential and find true happiness.

Completely Damaged Radio: February 24, 2020
Today, I took part in another episode of Completely Damaged Radio at Montgomery County Community College. I had such a wonderful time on the show back in December that I jumped at the chance to do it again.
This time around we talked about pro wrestling, Barry Manilow, James Patterson, Bruce Springsteen, and all things DDP Yoga, including the upcoming DDP Yoga Retreat. Check out the show (above), and enjoy!
10th Annual DDP Yoga Retreat
Hosted by TravelSmiths, this July is the 10th annual DDP Yoga Retreat. Picture it: six nights in Mexico at an amazing resort with clean, healthy food, group activities, excursions, pool parties, and morning DDP Yoga workouts led by the man himself, Diamond Dallas Page, on a pier overlooking the water or on the beach. I don’t know about you, but that sounds amazing to me! Continue reading
My Favorite Books Of 2019
I read 53 books in 2019, which is more than the previous year. I enjoy consuming stories as audiobooks on Audible, eBooks on my Kindle, or as old-fashioned physical books. Thrillers, autobiographies, self-help books—I love them all! Below are five my favorite books that I read in 2019 and my thoughts on them.
Review: DDP Yoga Bonus! & Extreme 3.0 DVDs
Recently, two new DDP Yoga DVD sets were released: DDPY Bonus! and Extreme 3.0. A significant amount of people still prefer physical media over digital, so Dallas decided to give them some new content to enjoy. Collectively, these new DVD sets contain five DVDs and 23 new workouts—15 on DDPY Bonus! and 8 on Extreme 3.0. All of these workouts first appeared on the DDP Yoga Now app and are still available. They originally debuted on the DDP Yoga Now app as live workouts, but they have since been renamed—on the DVDs and the app—with fun, descriptive titles. Think of these DVD sets as a greatest hits collection of the best and most challenging live workouts from the DDP Yoga Now app, specifically targeted toward those who prefer the DVDs over the app or for DDPY fans who simply want to have a hard copy of some of their favorite live workouts. Below is my take on each DVD set, as well as names and descriptions for every workout you’ll find on DDPY Bonus! and Extreme 3.0.
My First DDP Yoga Class
This morning I taught my first class as a certified DDP Yoga instructor. If you want to be notified about where and when future classes are taking place, please sign up for my email list here. The crazy thing is that this time last year I wasn’t even doing DDP Yoga. As with many fitness programs, it was one of those things I started and stopped a few times. In December 2018, I decided to recommit myself to doing it regularly. Shortly thereafter, I interviewed the CEO and founder of DDP Yoga: Diamond Dallas Page. I followed that up with a week-long stay at Dallas’ house in April, a DDP Yoga workshop in July, and enrollment in the DDP Yoga certification program. I completed the DDP Yoga certification process in less than six months and became the first Philadelphian to be a certified DDP Yoga instructor. In a city known for its firsts, I’m proud of this accomplishment. With all of this in mind, I headed into my first class this morning as a certified DDP Yoga instructor.
New DDP Yoga DVDs Available
With Thanksgiving upon us, DDP Yoga devotees, such as myself, have something to be thankful for: five brand-new DDPY DVDs, featuring 23 workouts from the DDP Yoga Now app. Even better—there is a Black Friday deal going on right now that will save you 30% on these DVDs, so act fast. If you’re a veteran or active service member, you can get 50% off—a fantastic deal that is offered every day of the year as a way to thank those individuals for the work they do. Below are the details of what’s on these new DVDs.
Monster-Mania With DDP
I’ve attended Monster-Mania in Cherry Hill numerous times, including this past August when I met Clive Barker. However, I’ve never gone to the events they put on in Maryland. When I saw that my friend Diamond Dallas Page was going to be there, I decided to make the trip. I hadn’t seen him since I attended his DDP Yoga workshop in July, and I also wanted to get a great professional photo with him. This was my chance to make that happen.
Shudder October Highlights
October is upon us, and Halloween is just a few weeks away! With this in mind, there’s no better way to celebrate this spooky time of the year than by watching all of the excellent content on Shudder. Last week, the first episode of the long-awaited Creepshow series debuted and it’s spectacular. New episodes will drop every week throughout the month, so be on the look out for that, as well as a whole host of movies and shows, including new episodes of NOS4A2.
In The Snake Pit With Jake Roberts
I recently had the pleasure of interviewing the legendary professional wrestler Jake “The Snake” Roberts. As you may recall, Jake and I lived together for a week back in April of this year when I stayed at Diamond Dallas Page’s house in Smyrna. During that trip, I didn’t ask Jake about anything related to wrestling because he was resting up from life on the road. Instead, we hung out, watched TV, had dinner together, and joked around like two regular guys. For the purposes of this interview, Jake and I talked about his impressive wrestling career, The Resurrection of Jake the Snake, DDP Yoga, and much more. Visit Jake’s site and follow him on social media for the latest details regarding Jake’s amazing one-man show and all of the exciting projects he has on the horizon.
